You need to restore setuid bit on the daemon Go to terminal and type the following (you need to be an Admin user, and will be prompted for your login password) sudo chmod +s /usr/local/dyndns/DynDNSUpdaterService 2.. You need to remove all references to 'nohup' in the /Library/StartupItems/DynDNSUpdater/DynDNSUpdater shell script, by deleting those 5 characters in the two places they occur, plus the following space after the command.. It seems SL does not like the use of nohup with the Console How you choose to do this is up to you.
I suffered from this to but have figured out how to fix it so that it starts automatically once again.. There have been several references to the daemon for DynDNS Updater not starting automatically under Snow Leopard.
